I’ve seen a recent surge in the number of people attempting to lease their domain names. We all know one vocal guy who has gotten into this, but I’ve been surprised to find a few others doing this. I’ve made some domain name inquiries and they come back with “we’re not selling it, but we are offering the option to lease it”. I get the leasing model, but from my perspective I don’t want to build a mall on someone else’s property. I’d rather find my own property to develop. But if the domain name can offer you immediate leads and will turn into revenue then I understand why someone would lease it, just not me. Here’s today’s list…
My Top 5 Picks
outrunning.com – a sneakers shop? Not sure what else I’d do with it. But it is memorable.
indiagroup.com – India is becoming a power slowly but surely in the global economy. There’s got to be a business that can use this domain today or that will use it in the near future.
snagy.com – easy to say and sounds trendy, worth taking a shot for $150 or less me thinks.
ehope.com – great name for an online charity site. Short, memorable, and can be a brand in about two seconds flat. I don’t try to profit from charities so I hope you won’t either if you win this.
flowerpots.org – you can sell flowerpots to all the gardening enthusiasts out there.
My 5 Picks with Less Than 10 Bidders
weyd.com – decent four letters that you can pronounce though it wouldn’t pass the radio test.
koxx.com – easy to pronounce, go ahead, try saying it.
ephotos.net – nice name even with the .net following it. This is a good name for a cash strapped startup to buy.
orprah.com – a typo for Oprah if you like that sort of thing.
twosided.com – you can corner the market on two sided coins and generate hundreds of dollars selling them online.
My Darkhorse Pick (a domain I think you can snatch cheap and sell for over $1,000)
goldkey.net – using Google you can identify quite a few different people who would have a use for this. Could also be easily brandable.
