Strong list of domains on the board today. One thing in domaining that never ceases to amaze me is that anytime I hear a breaking news story and there’s a new phrase or a new slang term or a new product name I go to check if it is registered and every single time it was registered a day or two ago. There’s people sitting out there that scan the news in real time and buy domains based on what’s happening out there. I’m curious how it turns out for them, because what was popular today is old news tomorrow. Things like “fiscal cliff” and “empty chair” and “binders full of women” were hot for a while, but eventually they’ll fade from memory so if you don’t flip it quick you’ll be sitting on it for quite some time.
Here’s today’s list…
My Top Auction Picks
powerrunning.com – sounds like a domain name that Nike would want. Nike creates different categories of exercise/walking so that their marketing department makes you believe you need 10 different shoes for 10 different activities… ahhhh marketing…
vividcolor.com – a 14 year old domain and no fading of the colors on this one. Good domain for a camera manufacturer.
showyouradhere.com – something about this domain I just like. I picture a place for regular people to allow companies to advertise on their cars, homes, foreheads, clothes, etc…
.info Auction – put this link here yesterday I’ll leave it up until the auction closes, lots of top notch .info domains being auctioned off for the first time.
bizcards.com – nice brandable domain in the highly competitive business cards niche. I think an end user would pay five figures for this.
nyg.com – nice LLL.com, first thought was you could market it to the New York Giants, but after searching Google for a bit there’s a bunch of other possibilities.
lawndarts.com – haven’t seen this game in a while, think the brand was called Jarts or Jdarts or something like that. Think they may have become illegal due to injuries but maybe not in every state.
kylee.com – first name domain, everyone loves these, each and every year more potential end users are born.
customerrelations.com – could be a third party site that handles the customer relations for online sites that want to outsource it. And it’s 17 years old.
localinc.com – great name, with everyone focusing on ‘local’ these days this domain should do very well.
buildmysite.com – a catchy name for a web design firm.
